RCB vs PBSK Match Highlights

RCB had a record of 2 home losses and hoped not to add a third. But, on April 18, 2025, at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, fate and weather did not seem to be in their favour. Heavy pouring pushed the match ahead to 9:45 pm IST, which was then reduced to 14 overs each side. RCB was losing, but Tim David stepped up to save his team from falling. Too bad, even his 50 runs from 26 balls weren’t enough against the Kings, who took home a 5-wicket victory.

Match Wrap-up

RCB vs PBSK Match Highlights: With the heavy rainfall, the match was reduced to 14-overs per side. This left the powerplay consisting only 4 overs. The Kings chose to bowl first.

RCB saw a boundary in the beginning itself, thanks to Phil Salt. But, this first ball was the only highlight because soon after at the fourth ball, he was caught out. Arshdeep Singh’s bowling was on fire, as usual, as he sent Virat Kohli also out in the third over.

The rain had stopped, but the wickets? They kept pouring. By the end of 5 wickets, RCB’s score read an astonishing 33. This is the lowest IPL 2025 score  recorded at the fall of 5 wickets. Rajat Patidar hit 23 runs from 18 balls, a ray of hope, that died soon because of Yuzi Chahal’s bowling. Now RCB needed to really step-up else they’d lose this game too. That is when Tim David took charge. He blew sixes and a score of 95 runs which looked unattainable until now, was theirs. David used 26 deliveries to hit his half century.

PBSK had to chase 96 now, but hold on. This is tricky. For regulars, 96 seems like a walk in the park. But in a match like this limited to 14 overs, a team needs to be extra cautious. Prabhsimran and Priyansh Arya began slow, but were unstoppable in the following overs, hitting multiple boundaries and a six. The game was a rollercoaster because just when they guessed they were winning, RCB was back, knocking Punab’s batsmen out one after another.

Then again, Nehal Wadhera pulled the Kings back up with his fours and sixes. 21 balls, 17 runs, 4 wickets down. Could PBSK make it?  Absolutely with Wadhera’s hits. They finished it off in style with 98 runs, and 11 balls to spare.

Conclusion

RCB’s struggles at home are now a glaring red mark on their season’s campaign. Their fortress is crumbling, and unless they find answers fast, the road ahead looks brutal. Punjab Kings, meanwhile, showcased grit, depth, and just enough swagger to close out a tricky, rain-affected match.

Cricket, once again, proved it needs no scripts. It writes its own – messy, dramatic, and utterly thrilling.
