One often aspires to become a doctor, a pilot, teacher, engineer, or even a politician. Over years, these aspirations change to one or the other until one day it’s time to finally pick a career. Some actually do become what they originally dreamt of becoming as a kid. But how often would you see someone stepping into their career at a very young age? Meet Devendra Fadnavis, the newly elected Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time and an able leader for years. He stepped into the political scenario at the age of just 22! His is a journey of perseverance, resilience and dedication to take his State to new heights.

The Making of the Leader

Fadnavis’ political inclination owes much to his formative years in Nagpur. Growing up in a politically active family, he had a deep interest in politics. His connection with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) also influenced his growing up years. At a very young age of 22, he entered politics, being elected as a corporator. At 27, he was the youngest Mayor of Nagpur. And there was no turning back for him then. He quickly became a favourite amongst voters because of his skill, clarity in making bold decisions and a knack for solving complex problems. All these responsibilities added up for him to be able to take up bigger roles later in life. Cut to 2024, he has been elected as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, not for the first, but the third time! Incredible, isn’t it?

A Transformative Journey

As soon as Fadnavis first took Maharashtra’s Chief Minister’s chair back in 2014, the State started seeing big transformations. These included:

• • The Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg: He launched this super useful highway that connected two cities, by improving roads and overall connectivity. This resulted in an increased travel and indirectly also increased the State’s economic inflow.
  • Jal Yukt Shivar Abhiyan: He ensured water for everyone, including those in drought hit areas and revolutionised water conservation.

• Exposing the scams: He ensured clean governance by exposing the infamous irrigation scam and earned people’s trust.

These, and more initiatives, firmed his position as an able and reliable leader, even after his tenure ended in 2019. He kept working and striving for the betterment, irrespective of his strategic expulsion. This paved the way for his even stronger comeback now on December 05, 2024. This is the third time he is returning as a Chief Minister. But, it goes much beyond just elections. His comeback means a more stable Maharashtra. To ensure this, he has joined forces with the coalition of the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP factions.

There’s a reason why his comeback is celebrated. It’s because of his down-to-earth nature that people don’t hesitate in reaching out to him and sharing their grievances. In doing so, they are sure their voices will be heard and effective solutions will be sought. He has maintained his reputation as a leader who believes in clean governance and so people trust him. Many admire him for his quick problem-solving ability. For this new term too, he has big plans.

• He will put more focus on providing more jobs and boosting the economy.
• He aims for the growth of both rural and urban areas.
• As obvious, he will live up to his status of a leader who delivered clean governance, exposing anyone or anything that hampers it in any way. 

Looking at all his previous developments and services, there is no doubt about his promises this time as well. Under his leadership, Maharashtra is sure to be on the road of development, growth and good governance.

Conclusion: People’s Choice

Devendra Fadnavis has risen from a humble to a hail status, all because of his perseverance, diligence, consistency and dedication. He truly deserves to serve this third term of Chief Ministry after all that he has done for the State. He has already grabbed the attention and eyes are on him as to how he will write Maharashtra’s next chapter.
