The Kapoors flew to Delhi to personally invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to this grand celebration of their family’s legend. PM further acknowledging Raj Kapoor’s legacy is a proof of the significance of this milestone. The kapoors took to Instagram to share the honour of celebrating their grandfather’s 100th birthday in a grand manner.
The Greatest Indian Film Festival
The 3-day film festival will take place across 40 cities and will feature 10 of Raj Kapoor’s most iconic movies. These will include Awaara, Shree 420, Mera Naam Joker, Sangam, Bobby, Barsat, Jagte Raho, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, and Ram Teri Ganga Maili. This will be in collaboration with RK Films, the Film Heritage Foundation, and major cinema chains like PVR and Cinepolis. The public would be able to watch these at a nominal price of just Rs. 100. This ensures that everyone gets to access Raj Kapoor’s iconic work and his legacy.
