MTV Roadies Double Cross: A Wild Ride and Return of the OG Rannvijay Singh

Published on

The newest season 20 of the popular youth-centric TV reality show, MTV Roadies, is the latest source of excitement. This is because of the OG Rannvijay Singh Singha’s return as a host. He had taken a break from the show for the past few seasons for personal reasons. And he is returning with some old and new names on the list of the gang leaders. The nurturing Neha Dhupia, the competitive Prince Narula, the strategic Rhea Chakraborty, and the Youtube sensation Elvish Yadav will be forming the panel. So, if you thought that you were well prepared for what’s about to come, it’s time to re-think. This season will be anything but ordinary.

The Return of the Native: Rannvijay Singh

The most interesting bit of this season is the coming back of Rannvijay to spread his charm like before. Let’s admit it, a lot of people love the show mostly because of him. He has been an integral part of Roadies since the very beginning. From being a contestant on the very first Roadies Season 1 to winning it, to sticking to the show as a host in later seasons, he has seen it all.

Over the years, while playing the host, he has gained respect as more than just an anchor. He has been a guiding light for contestants, a bridge between the participants and the judges. He has maintained a very good balance between being tough on the outside, yet being the nurturer and soft on the inside.

His absence from the recent seasons had left a void, which will now be filled with his return.

It is the most anticipated event not just because of this, but also because of the introduction of new elements that fascinate the audience.

Gang Leaders New and Old

Every new season brings with it a fresh new element and a fresh new leader, and Season 20 can’t be left behind in this aspect. And so, Elvish’s inclusion is much looked forward to. The audience is eager to see how the youth sensation will meet the challenges he’ll face on this not so easy road. He will be seen leading a gang, alongside Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula and Rhea Chakraborty.

Prince Narula

Also known as the king of Indian reality TV shows, Prince has rightfully gained this title. He has won Roadies, Splitsvilla and Bigg Boss. When he is in there, he is in for the win. Losing is not an option for him. With his stellar performances and charismatic guidance, he’s bringing a competitive spirit to the field once again  with this new Season. The participants from the past know that he doesn’t scare away from risks, and expects nothing less from his gang.

Neha Dhupia

Neha looks tough on the outside but gives motherly protection to the gang once she calls her their own. But this doesn’t mean that she can be deceived or defeated easily. She has personified assertiveness on the show. She can protect but also knock you out in no time. And when it comes to standing by her team, Neha knows how to do it. The mommy in her won’t let anyone harm her babies or do them wrong. She is a great mentor and with the surplus of experience, she understands the show like the back of her hat.

Rhea Chakraborty

Rhea is back for her second season on the show, with the debut in the previous one and winning it there itself. What a queen! Her innocent face and calm demeanour can fool one into believing that she’s a noob, but if she can grab the winning title in her debut season, she can achieve much more than can be imagined.
While she has faced a lot of ups and downs and controversies in her personal life, she has sailed through them all gracefully and didn’t let it affect her performance on the ground. In the last season, she picked up the ways of the show and proved that she had the guts it takes to reach where she reached. This time, she’s coming back stronger, bolder, fiercer, all while maintaining her youthful elegance.

Elvish Yadav

Elvish is here, and he’s here to get the taste of a neck to neck competition on the field. While he has a massive following online, he has a lot to fight for and win in his time here on the show. He’s coming for the first time on Roadies, that too as a gang leader. Honestly, it’s not going to be easy and his followers are keeping an eye on how he is set to adapt to this new format. Will his wit and humour be enough to make a mark on the show? Time will tell. The show requires strength, resilience and power, combined with good strategizing, and Elvish will have to prove that he deserves to lead the gang.

What Roadies is All About

Ever since its inception, the show has always been a physically demanding one, challenging contestants to push past their limits and emerge victorious. They often find themselves in strange situations and have to make their way out of it, in a limited time or faster than the others. This is a show about intense competition, drama and breakdowns. In so many years, the show’s format has changed multiple times but the core remained the same – putting contestants in difficult situations and seeing who can survive.

Winning the title of a Roadie is not an easy task. It largely follows the survival of the fittest theory because one who falls weak during the show, physically or emotionally, is not fit for the title. Someone who is able to ace the tasks given, win and lose people and not be affected by either, is strategic and sharp-witted enough, often goes on to bag the title.

What stands out the most about Roadies is that it has given fame to many contestants outside the show. Names like Bani J, Ayushmann Khurana, and Prince Narula himself were just regular names before these people became a part of the show. But life changed for them after they gained recognition during their respective Season. Contestants, ideally young competitors, strive to win the title and enjoy this fame that comes along.

What’s in store for the Contestants

Competition, expectations, challenges – all are going to be tough and high. Like in previous Seasons, one must very carefully climb the ladder to victory, come what may. If one is scared of taking the risks or does not like the adrenaline rush, Roadies is probably not for them. With Rannvijay as the host, Roadies 20 ought to be fierce and energetic. The kind of tasks that contestants will have to perform will have them falling back on their gang leaders like never before. Additionally, the variety of the gang leaders will be an interesting element to look forward to. Whose gang will be stronger or whose strategy will be better than the rest, nobody knows.

Conclusion

Nostalgia hit hard when the news of Rannvijay returning as the Roadies host was out. It has been up and running for years now and with Rannvijay’s face missing, something felt incomplete. So, the man has come back to make up for all the absence. The excitement around the latest Season has increased multifold because everyone wants to see how a YouTuber like Elvish adapts to a completely new environment, medium and format of Roadies. The strategies that gang leaders Prince, Neha and Rhea have implied previously, will see new heights. It’s going to be a complete emotional ride for those who are big Roadie enthusiasts.
