Do you remember the day of January 22, 2024? The whole nation was shining bright with lights, a lot like on Diwali. Why? The celebration was the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla idol at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. They chose Paush Shukla Paksh Dwadashi, the 12th day of the lunar cycle in the Paush month, for the occasion. This year, the important day fell on January 11. The grand first-anniversary celebration will take place from January 11 to January 13 in Ayodhya. Organizers have planned a variety of spiritual and cultural events to mark this significant occasion. PM Modi also took to his X to congratulate countrymen on the occasion. He also mentioned that the temple built after years of sacrifice is a great heritage of our culture and spirituality.
The Celebrations
The entire view of the Ram Mandir decorated with 50 quintal flowers, lights and diyas, the spiritual vibe from chants and rituals were truly divine on the day 1 of the grand celebration. CM Yogi led the Mahaabhishek of Ram Lalla in the Mandir’s sanctum sanctorum, followed by prayers and crowd addressal. Dressed in golden, Ram Lalla radiated divinity, making people rush to catch a glimpse. The priests chanted sacred scriptures like the Hanuman Chalisa and Ram Raksha Stotra, filling the air with positive energy. The offering to Lord Ram included 56 different types of bhog which also depicts abundance and devotion. They later distributed this bhog as prasad among the people.
Not just this, but the day was full of cultural programs too. At Angad Teela, devotees enjoyed the stories of Lord Rama, Ramcharitmanas, and devotional songs by talented artists like Usha Mangeshkar. Different floors of the Mandir were dedicated to different activities. The ground floor hosted classical music performances while on the first floor were beautiful recitations of Ramcharitmanas. All the cultural and spiritual activities together brought the essence of Ayodhya back to life. It was a pure and divine experience altogether.
